  • Taking Washington By Storm

    Web Producer  |
Tens of thousands of conservative activists are preparing to descend on the nation's capital Saturday for a rowdy tea-party style protest, event planners say.
About 30,000 have signed up on the event's website to attend the march and rally and oppose what they call excessive government spending, says Adam Brandon, spokesman for FreedomWorks, a group that supports lower taxes and less government. Former House majority leader, Republican Dick Armey, is the organization's chairman.

Tea Party Express rolls in on Saturday, ending its 34-city, 7,000-mile bus tour across the country.

  • Rain or Shine!

A little shower here and there didn't stop the folks of Jackson, MI from turning out at the 23rd stop of the Tea Party Express.

As I was reminded of the historical significance, Jackson, MI is commonly known as "the birthplace of the Republican Party."

The first recorded "official" meeting of a group calling itself "Republicans" took place on July 6, 1854 in a location known as "under the oaks."

  • Hope You Had a Happy Labor Day!

It was the 20th stop of the Tea Party Express Monday, and more than 5,000 great Americans turned out in the Joliet/New Lennox, IL, area to send a message to Washington.

(Note: check out the fine camera work done by your faithful correspondent himself!)

  • Meet "Slick Willie"

Terry Scott is a Veteran we met in El Paso on the 10th stop on the 6th day of the Tea Party Express.

We shot this moving video in his military Jeep (he calls it "Slick Willie") and just beyond the mountains in the background is Juarez, Mexico.

Remember, if you see a Veteran today - please shake his or hand and thank them for their service.

    Here's Terry... And "Slick Willie!"

  • Chocolate Turtle Saves the Day!

    Griff Jenkins |

Ever wonder how television news gets made when you have a lot of ground to cover and time is short?

Sometimes when we are constantly on the GO, we have to shoot an event and find a high-speed internet connection to send the video back to NYC. But sometimes... You can't find one!

Fortunately for us, we were able to find the greatest Bed and Breakfast in New Mexico along the road and proprietors Dallas and Nancy Renner saved the day by allowing us to use their connection.

This video is real and this is how intense it can get on the road... But with faith, you find Great Americans who graciously help you out in a pinch.

The Chocolate Turtle is a gorgeous B&B (I called it an Inn - sorry, Nancy!) and if you're ever in Albuquerque, I recommend you check it out at www.chocolateturtlebb.com!
