  Jack Kemp Foundation Is Launched; Hosts Inaugural Conference

  Washington DC – October 21, 2009 – The Jack Kemp Foundation launched today with an inaugural conference headlined by former Secretary of Education William Bennett, former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Henry Cisneros, TV host Larry Kudlow and U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan.  The Foundation also announced its initial projects:  First, to digitize Mr. Kemp’s papers for use by researchers worldwide through the Library of Congress;  second to support the completion of Enterprise Africa, a project to study how tax and regulatory reform are helping to transform Rwanda, so recently devastated by civil war, in collaboration with George Mason University’s Mercatus Center; and third, to establish a Kemp Fellowship at the Kluge Center to enable a scholar to conduct research utilizing the Jack F. Kemp Collection at the Library of Congress.

  “The Jack Kemp Foundation will help America rediscover a muscular intellectualism combining reverence for history, innovative ideas, and common sense to produce positive results in the real world,” said James Kemp, who will be president of the new foundation.
