House Speaker Nancy Pelosi unveiled a retooled health care overhaul plan Thursday intended to bridge differences among Democrats and open a history-making floor debate on extending health insurance to nearly all Americans... and it's only 1,900 pages!

Speaking on the West Front of the Capitol surrounded by Democratic lawmakers, Pelosi said the House's version of a health care reform bill will include a government-run insurance option and extend coverage to 36 million uninsured Americans.  She said the bill will lower patient costs and reduce the national deficit.

Pelosi wants to have the legislation on the floor next week -- with a final vote before Veterans Day, Nov. 11 -- which would give President Obama a bill to sign by year's end, numerous Democratic officials said.

Do you think lawmakers will actually read the entire thing?

AARP BRIBE / For their support AARP was promised Medicare Advantage would be dissolved and the AARP program Medi-Gap would replace it.This is an expensive program and the reason Medicare Advantage was made for Seniors. The AARP sold Medi-GAP until President Bush approved Medicare Advantage and made coverage affordable, now if Obama's health plan passes many Seniors will be without supplemental coverage again

We all know they should read the bill but I don't think they will. I have to wonder if Obama will make deals with our representatives ('special favors') as long as they approve what he wants. They will have their own Government health care plan and not have to follow the rules as set forth in this bill for the rest of Americans. So, do you think they really care about us? Heck no! They'll do as they're told by the Administration and not listen to the people they were elected to represent.

If they didn't write it, why would they read it! The American voter should fire all of them since the lobbyists are doing all the work. Re-Cycle Congress every election.

Would someone please post the names of the Blue Dog democrats? I would like to email each and every one of them to vote NO to Obama care. I would love to go to Washington tomorrow with Michelle Bauchman but some of us have to work to support the looters! I keep hearing about these "Blue Dogs" but I can't find their names. Although I know that my representative will vote no, I think that all Americans should know who the individuals are that are turning our republic into a communist nation!

This 1990 pages of bs is being crammed down our throats and and as a so called middle class person I am praying they do not get away with it. One of several problems I have with it is they want to tax me for not having insurance! If I could afford insuance I would carry it but I work a minimum wage job and my husband is on disability. We need change but not change that will punish people that are working our lowest paid jobs.

Last night on CSPAN, Republican Congressional Women were talking and they were TERRIFIC!!! It was led by the Congresswoman from Tennessee and included others. They made some terrific points against Pelosi's bill. They should get some airtime on FOX & re-do the arguments so the entire nation can learn some of the key facts of this proposal. Tried to email my appreciation to them but no go since none are my congressman & mine will vote for it since hes a Democrat & same for my 2 senators.

If the DEMOCRAT'S bill for health care reform is so great, why wasn't the public invited to Nancy Pelosi's self-love fest re it in Washington the other day. Please people out there read the Declaration of Independence. Do we not have taxation without representation currently in Washington? How does anyone in good conscience keep electing these SCHMUCKS to high public office. They have betrayed us all in their mad power grab. We must clean house in Washington NOW!! VOTE THEM OUT!!

Staunch Republican in Virginia

The Conservative movement in my opinion will be the downfall of the GOP, further dividing us and thus ensuring Democrat victories. Our base is shrinking rapidly, the last thing we need is to be divided. I'm afraid it's too late, in 4yrs the number of registered Democrats is expected to rise 20%, that is on top of recent polls suggesting that only 32% of the nation claims to be Republican. We must move away from the far-right and back to the center.

Staunch Republican in Virginia

Even with a sweep of the upcoming elections for the GOP were still in a heap of trouble. Right now there's no central Republican leader to turn to, and there's no central Republican message, the Republican message is sort of muddied. What do we stand for? Right now it's opposition to Obama. The GOP still will have a long way to go over the next year because of our party's own fundamental problems, divisions over the path forward, the lack of a national leader and a shrinking base.

Insurance companies know that side deals with legislators will no longer be necessary after this bill passes. I'm upset because my party's representatives are upset. They know that raising campaign $ will become extremely difficult without political assurances to insurance companies.

We have come to far with giving them this authority. It is hard to turn back now. They feel they have a mandate to move their agenda forward after November of 08, now they will pass as much as they can just in case they loose power in 010. And do so in a way that it cant be undone..
