  • Conservative Revolution?

A special election in upstate New York’s 23rd congressional district has turned into what seems like a battle for the heart and soul of the Republican Party.

Although official GOP candidate Dede Scozzafava calls herself a Republican, her record is a far cry from that: she’s pro-choice, supports card check legislation and favored the stimulus bill.

GOP heavy hitters like Gov. Tim Pawlenty, former Governor Sarah Palin and former Senator Fred Thompson have all come out in support of a different contender -- Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman, who favors cutting taxes and decreasing the debt.

Do you think this could be the start of a conservative revolution?

TO UNDERSTAND A LIBERAL

There lives have been under the belief to look for a supporting authority for guidance and approval.Obama is there there daddy/mommy,they could not stand on there own. They need GOVERNMENT INTERVENTION for there survivability.

as a registered democrate I am ashamed of the intelectual migites that ar running not only the house and senate, but I really feel great remorse for the children following all of us in the 45 plus age group. I hope the people in the United States get past this moronic leadership we now have. I thought when I was in the Marine Corps under Carter that we "probly have hit rock bottom" but boy was I wrong!I want all the parties to start looking out for the USA not themselves! !

We must support our convictions and follow what we believe. We may not win the battles at first but we will win the war of ideas. Support the candidates that believe in conservative values and reject any and all liberals.

Give me a moment. My eyes are still trying to recover from seeing the words "Great American" next to The Manatee's photograph. Conservative revolution? This is a joke, right? Revolting conservatism? Absolutely! Palin? Thompson? Santorum? Armey? Is this the "Quitters and Landslide Losers" support group or what?

I listen to Hannity on his radio programs on my way home from school, and I watch him at every opportunity. Yes, I'm a public school teacher, and the ONLY reason I belong to the union is because we live in a litigious society. The ONLY reason I belong to AARP is because I get a break on my auto insurance. It would be a huge mistake for ANYONE to believe that either or both of these organizations represent their membership because of their political slant.

YES!!!! Go conservative party!

I'm a devoted republican but a conservative revolution is no longer possible in this country. The place has become completely diverse and we conservatives aren't comfortable with that.

Conservatives know how important the NY race is and are speaking up to the GOP and Newt for their apparent deafness. It’s not about the R, it's all about the C . Newts own blog was filled with angry conservatives giving him grief for his endorsement of the RINO... very disapointed in him.

I think Conservatives have had it with both parties. Republicans had better be careful in the next election and not think that they can put an "R" after their and automatically win the election. We want candidates that share our conservative values and it really doesn't matter what party they claim to belong to. If a candidate supports lower taxes, reduced spending, smaller government etc I would vote for them before some liberal Republican. Palin was popular for a reason.

I WATCH FOX CABLE EVERY NIGHT, GOOD THAT THERE ARE COMMENTATORS AND NEWS SAVVY LIKE SHAWN, GLENN, BILL, GRETA. MY ADVICE LET'S GET BACK TO BEING CONSERVATIVES, THE IDEA OF PROGRESSIVE PRINCIPLE IS NEGATING THE CORE VALUES OF REGAN CONSERVATIVES. THIS PROGRESSIVE PEOPLE UNDER REPUBLICAN FLAG ARE JUST TRYING TO BE ELECTED RUN AS INDEPENDENT IF YOU MAY BUT STOP USING THE REPUBLICAN PARTY!

It has to start in the House of Representatives.... Article II section 4.....would like to see the discussion of the possible impeachment of BHO.Joe Wilson could have been the beginning with his heart felt "You Lie" comment. That was a courageous remark, now watered down and drained away by his apologies. It so apparent that he didn't mean to apologize---just pressured into it....Ok now take it back. Joe. All the BHO CZARS, Frequent flyer miles in Air Force One-are just a power grab 4 BHO.

do you think connecticut has a chance to do the same as ny? only true conservative is sam caligiuri. any endorsement help out there?

October 28, 2009 at 6:29 pm

Sean it could be if people like Gingrich realize that it's not about being a Republican anymore, it's about people who have the right principles, smaller government, stronger national defense, a belief in our markets and being honest. The NRCC should be ashamed they ran attack ads against Doug Hoffman

October 28, 2009 at 5:36 pm

I hope and pray this is the beginning of a Conservative Revolution. I am upset with the Republicans who believe if they were more like Democrats they would win elections! GOP has to follow the Conservative principles,or they will not win elections. No more LIBGOP's!
